Our identities are our own. We all go through a very personal inner process and we can identify as anything we want. We can even change our minds at a moment’s notice. Furthermore I’m in no position to judge anyone. All that aside, with a lit cigarette in my hand, absinthe sitting on my desk, and a cat named Floozy at my feet I’m going to start calling some people out and labeling them because I think they’re a little confused.

#1 FLDS Ranch

When I first saw the news coverage of the raid in Texas I have to admit that I was not thinking about the children. I wasn’t thinking about the mystery and power of faith, I wasn’t thinking that Texas makes people crazy, I was thinking that these folks would fit in just fine at a munch except that we tend to wear a lot more black and tend to favor marriage discussions that occur after someone has reached the age of consent. If you really want to learn about Domestic Discipline or Total Power Exchange maybe you should visit the Yearning for Zion Ranch because they could school every single one of us.

#2 Perverted Justice Volunteers

People who exploit and abuse children are awful, hands down. I am in no way defending the slimeballs who are legitimately out to kidnap kids. It’s pretty common to have a very visceral reaction to news of a missing kid who was tortured at the hands of a pedophile. Although well intentioned, this organization is a little problematic. How can these volunteers be held accountable for mistakes or legalities? But on a kinkier note these volunteers seem to spend a lot of time and get a great deal of delight from pretending to be 13 year old girls having cyber sex with predators. There is a word for this and that word is roleplay.

#3 Purity Balls

Purity Balls are popping up everywhere. Girls get into their prettiest gowns, Daddy wears a tux and dances with his little princess just like it was prom night. Then he takes an oath to protect her modesty and chastity. I even heard of one situation where a father gave his daughter a necklace with a lock and was going to keep the key until the day she was married when he would hand it over to husband. Every single time I read about one of these events I always assume its a parody because they are so very over the top and…well…kinky.

#4 The Anti-Porn Movement

The anti-porn movement is a mixed group of self-described liberals and conservatives all set on stopping pornography. Of course the best way to know that porn is awful and horrible is to watch a lot of it. It’s also very important to distribute these disgusting images to people so they too can see how wrong it is. One site recommends starting with a presentation to friends. Speaking for myself, I always call up some friends to come over when I stumble across a particularly dirty, filthy, and horribly offensive pornographic movie so that can all watch it together and talk about how degrading it is. Should one of us show signs of arousal, well, as friends it’s our duty to show her the error of her ways with some punishment.

Or to use a phrase that was said to me the other day, my love of watching and participating in porn and BDSM is just my inner “stepford slut” acting up again.
