A lot of people look at me and see a sweet little thing who probably couldn’t handle too much pain. One of my biggest problems in play is that most people are a little too nice to me. Of course that reputation is rapidly flying out of the window, especially after I played publicly at the Mr. S Booth at the 2008 Folsom Street Fair. In case you were there and a little bit curious I’m the one who got stapled. Well, I was suspended then whipped to a welted-up pulp then stapled and then whipped even more but stapling is a little more exotic.

There are a lot of people who don’t consider me a ‘reliable’ source for information about how painful something is for someone. We all experience pain a little differently and some pretty heavy players I know have fainted from an extensive skin stapling. I had about 30 in me at one time and I was still standing and earnestly enjoying the experience. In fact, I felt cheated that the stapler jammed in my skin 5 times.

This is a type of play that may not be for everyone, but that’s a tag line you’ll see on virtually every form of SM there is. Some people love a hard flogging but can’t stand a caning. Some people want spanking, but not paddling. I had a decent amount of anxiety about this scene right before I went into it. I was terrified that I wasn’t going to be able to handle it and have to back out in front of tons of people and even some press. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was for me. I was able to leave some in to show off to friends who missed the show and I’m really looking forward to another opportunity to experience some more.

I’m waiting to see more of this out and about in the scene. As play piercing continues on its rise of popularity, I’m sure this will pop up more and more. I can’t advocate grabbing your nearest stapler (what are the odds you have a surgical stapler laying around in your home anyway) and puncturing the first person you come across. The usual precautions and disclaimers apply–that you should take a class or learn from someone with experience and find a willing and consenting partner–but all in all surgical stapling is much less complicated than a play piercing. Using a needle requires a little more motor coordination, precision, and effort. Stapling gives the top the option of moving more quickly if they so choose.
